Vehicle Drop Off
Drive or tow your vehicle to Huber Body Center.
Make sure to also contact your insurance company about the accident.
*Your insurance company will give you a claim number to bring with you or email to us in advance.
If you need recommendations for a reliable towing company please do not hesitate to ask.
One of our estimators and/or your insurance company estimator will assess the damage to your vehicle.
You will then be asked to sign a repair authorization which will allow us to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition.
This is when we are ready to get to work!
The damaged portion of your vehicle will be disassembled and a pre-scan of your electrical systems and software will be done.
There are times during this process that additional items will be added to the original repair order or estimate.
This is called a supplement and will also require insurance approval.
The insurance company will need to approve all repairs before we can begin working on your vehicle.
We make every effort to communicate with the insurance company in a timely manner.
There may be times that we ask for your assistance with this in order to prevent unnecessary delays.
Some of the longest delays come while waiting for these approvals, so your help in this area is always greatly appreciated.
Parts Ordered / Parts Received
After all of the approvals are received for the repair work and supplements, we will locate and order all of the parts necessary to complete your vehicle.
Once all of the critical parts are here, the repair work on the vehicle will begin.
Repairs to the Vehicle are Started
If your vehicle has any structural frame or uni-body damage, it will be placed on our frame machine.
It will then be aligned to factory specifications using computerized measuring equipment.
This is when body work is started.
We will replace or repair factory panels, check for proper fit and make sure that the vehicle parts look and align as they did when they were new.
Paint Process Begins
This is the beginning fo the refinishing process.
One of our technicians will prime and sand the surface in order to prepare your vehicle for paint.
We will now carefully mask and cover your vehicle to protect it from overspray during the refinishing process.
We will then place your vehicle in an environmentally controlled paint booth where the paint will then be applied.
Multi Step Refinish Process
Most vehicles will be coated with a base coat/clear coat refinish system.
Surfaces may then be buffed and polished to provide your vehicle with a flawless finish.
Once the refinishing process is completed the vehicle moves back into the shop for reassembly of all parts.
Examples of this could be: reattaching mirrors, moldings, doors and bumpers.
Your vehicle will now go through an extensive post repair inspection of all work that was completed.
This is the part of our 3 stage finish process, which consists of cleaning the engine component, the last quality control process and look over, test drives, fluid checks, wind noise, rattles and making sure all bulbs are fully functional.
The vehicle will then move to the detail department to be cleaned inside and out before being delivered back to you.
